The D-Day landing beaches

A dive into history

On 6 June 1944, the beaches of Normandy became the scene of the largest amphibious and airborne operation in history. The very next day, Bayeux became the first French town to be liberated, marking the start of the campaign to reclaim the territory. The Battle of Normandy Memorial Museum keeps the memory of these momentous events alive to this day.

Situated just a few kilometres from the D-Day beaches, the Château de Sully is an ideal place to discover these places of remembrance.
